Crockett Chamber of Commerce

Chamber Chatter

September, 2022

Summer is coming to an end and Crockett is springing back to life with everyone back from vacations and school back in session.  Lots also happening at the Chamber!

We’ve added some new Board members this year and we have proprietors of several new businesses in town getting involved, so this fall we will finally be able to have new officer elections.  But first, we must extend…

A giant thank you to Frank McCullough.  In 2014, Frank signed up for 2 years as President of the Chamber.  Fortunately, he held on and graciously guided the Chamber through a tough 9 years until, now he is finally able to retire.  We can all be confident that the Chamber will be in good hands with the new members joining from the many new businesses downtown in the past two years.

Frank has three daughters, five grandchildren and another on the way.  He moved to Crockett in 2013, after retiring from his business life.  His family owned the Chevrolet Dealership in Hayward where he spent many years in the automobile business.  In 1998, he took a different road and bought the Santa Rosa Brewing Company which he enjoyed for several years before turning back to the car business until he retired.

We greatly appreciate all that Frank so generously gave to the Chamber and to Crockett.  Thank you, Frank, we will miss you!!

Flowers Fresco is Growing, Again!!!

Mariko DiBiase first brought Flowers Fresco to Crockett in a very small counter space in the lobby of the old Emporium Building at 628 2nd Avenue.  Then they added the empty suite behind them for outdoor plants and supplies.  Then they moved to their full storefront space and created a beautiful full florist shop at 1322 Pomona. Now, they are not moving, but adding their original lobby space as a second location for indoor houseplants, soil and decorative pots.  The plants are beautiful, lush and easy to care for.  No green thumb required to thrive!  They will be hosting a monthly cutting swap soiree, a fun and social experience to share your most beloved plants and make new plants.

Stay tuned for hours and Grand Opening info for the new (previous) plant location. As always, you can find beautiful flowers at Flowers Fresco Pomona Street shop Wednesdays – Saturdays 12pm to 7pm.

It’s always the right time for flowers and, yes, you really do need another plant!
